Job Title

Develop and deliver an engaging quality applied learning curriculum that meets Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority senior school requirements.

Plan, prepare and teach programs to achieve specific student outcomes. Participate in the development and implementation of policies and programs that promote student engagement and wellbeing.

Accountable for the effective delivery of their programs. Use student data to inform teaching approaches which enable differentiated individualised teaching and learning to improve student outcomes.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement
  • Facilitate restorative practices with students and staff, including the use of affective statements/questions, circle structures, formal conferencing and reintegration of identified students following behaviour incidents
  • Develop teaching and learning activities that are engaging for a diverse range of learning styles and incorporate differentiated strategies to meet the specific learning needs of students
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to keep abreast of industry changes, broaden knowledge and improve practice
  • Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss student academic and behavioural progress

Curriculum Development, Delivery and Assessment:

  • Develop and deliver an engaging quality applied learning senior school curriculum that meets VCAA study design requirements and is inclusive of Unit Planners, Lesson Plans and assessments
  • Monitor the progress of students, provide mid/end of year reporting within nominated timeframes and flag when there is a concern regarding the wellbeing of a student

Professional Standards:

  • Maintain VIT registration by actively seeking, undertaking and documenting professional learning activities
  • Demonstrate professional standards as per The Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous review and improvement of student learning outcomes and achievement aligned to the College Strategic Plan outcomes
