This organisation provides a range of services, including homelessness support, sexual assault services, and women's health services. They are committed to delivering crisis support, trauma-informed counselling, and advocacy.
Purpose: This role combines responsibilities for coordinating community education and advocacy on women's health and sexual assault with providing face-to-face counselling and support. It includes delivering training, facilitating therapeutic groups, and participating in a 24-hour sexual assault crisis roster.
Key Responsibilities:- Community Education and Training: Develop and deliver community education and training programs on women's health and sexual assault to various sectors.
- Counselling and Support: Provide individual and crisis counselling to women and survivors of sexual assault, as well as facilitate therapeutic groups and other supportive activities.
- Liaison and Collaboration: Liaise with other organisations to enhance service delivery and referral pathways, and participate in the 24-hour sexual assault crisis response roster.
- Training and Facilitation: Coordinate and facilitate community education sessions and training for various sectors, and develop and facilitate therapeutic groups for survivors and their supporters.
- Advocacy and Support: Advocate and liaise with healthcare and social services to improve support and referral pathways, and participate in on-call responses and contribute to the daily service support and professional development.
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Social Sciences/Social Work or relevant employment history.
- Experience: Minimum three years' experience in homelessness or related fields.
- Skills: Strong ability to develop and deliver community education and training, demonstrated expertise in crisis counselling and therapeutic group facilitation, and knowledge of feminist analysis and experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.
- Certifications: Current Blue Card and Queensland driving licence.
