Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

This position is responsible for the independent selection, evaluation, and application of relevant engineering knowledge, techniques, and procedures in support of the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and management of facility assets, infrastructure, and systems.

The successful candidate will be involved in various tasks such as performing technical studies, analyses, investigations, and consultations, identifying and developing detailed requirements for facility infrastructure, equipment, and system modification, replacement, upgrade, and/or recapitalization, designing and developing solutions for technical problems across the mechanical engineering discipline, reviewing and providing technical advice on proposed changes to facility infrastructure and system changes, and performing engineering calculations in support of facility infrastructure operation and design.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Perform technical studies, analyses, investigations, and consultations to identify and address technical issues related to facility infrastructure, equipment, and systems.
  • Develop and maintain detailed requirements documentation for facility infrastructure, equipment, and system modification, replacement, upgrade, and/or recapitalization.
  • Design and develop solutions for technical problems across the mechanical engineering discipline, including HVAC and hydronic systems, data centre cooling systems, building management and control systems.
  • Review and provide technical advice on proposed changes to facility infrastructure and system changes, from general concepts through to detailed designs.
  • Perform engineering calculations in support of facility infrastructure operation and design.
  • Provide technical recommendations and input on facilities system, infrastructure, and equipment reliability, operation, maintenance, life-cycle management, and costing.
  • Evaluate operational systems, equipment, processes, and infrastructure to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Maintain health and safety practices and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Australian citizenship.
Tickets and Licenses:
  • Driver's license.
Experience and Skills:
  • Familiarity with HVAC and hydronic systems, data centre cooling systems, building management and control systems.
  • Minimum one year of experience with building management and control systems, facilities operation and maintenance required.
  • Experience with project management and leadership desired.
