About the Role

We are seeking an Electrical Commissioning Lead to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) team in Melbourne. This position will lead commissioning teams on projects and be responsible for maintaining and improving relationships with clients, managing scope and identifying opportunities to provide additional services.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in getting to know our clients' mission, vision, culture and goals, with the objective of collaborating on unrivalled building commissioning solutions. On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Maintain and improve our relationship with clients, manage scope and look for opportunities to provide additional services.
  • Identify, monitor and support attainment of net fee booked plans by driving consistent communication across the organization.
  • Assist and collaborate within the commissioning sector and with other sector and service leaders in defining opportunities and engagement strategies for clients.
  • Serve as a key client manager for selected clients.
  • Drive the identification and development of new business opportunities in the commissioning market, including strategy for positioning, proposing and presenting on business development campaigns.
  • Undertake technical assessments of project schedules, drawings, manuals and technical submittals.
  • Develop commissioning implementation plans, schedules, reports, checklists and test scripts.
  • Provide technical advice to clients in respect of project and operational risk.
  • Work closely with general contractor's team in developing commissioning strategies and processes which align fully with project objectives.
  • Manage attendance and reporting of factory tests.
  • Undertake and report inspections and tests.
  • Attend project and internal meetings as needed.
  • Manage detailed recording of meetings.

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Green Star AP, LEED AP, CSA or LEED Associate qualifications, demonstrated experience in commissioning or facility engineering, preferably working in Data Centre / Health sectors, experience with equipment inspections, Factory Witness Test / Factory Acceptance Tests and Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident status.

Key Qualifications

Must be willing to travel to site-based locations as reasonably based on needs. Must be an experienced engineer, either a licensed PE or a field technician with excellent understanding of MEP systems, HVAC controls, the T&B process etc.

Must have good computer skills and effective typing skills. Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Project software is also required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Be familiar with the organisation of design documents, the preparation of the multidiscipline designs and the delivery of the design & construction services. Strong knowledge of construction practices, systems engineering, operations fundamentals, contracting and general business operations is also required.

Understanding of project accounting and financial management tools is essential. Ability to prioritise and organise work; ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently is also required.
