Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Fixed Income expert to lead our Interest Rate Strategy team. As Director of Fixed Income, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the bank's views on global bond and interest rate markets.

Your primary responsibility will be to develop and communicate timely trade ideas and notes to clients. You will work closely with the Global Economic & Markets Research team to provide insights and forecasts on domestic, international, sustainable, commodity, and financial economic trends.

You will cover Australian and NZ OIS and swap markets, BBSW, BKBM, SOFR, domestic and cross-currency basis swaps, options, and relevant regulatory and banking issues as required.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and communicate interest rate trade ideas and provide regular notes to clients.
  • Cover Australian and NZ OIS and swap markets, BBSW, BKBM, SOFR, domestic and cross-currency basis swaps, options, and relevant regulatory and banking issues.
  • Lead provision of fixed income ideas, including bonds, semis, agencies, and SSAs.
  • Liaise with Fixed Income & Rates Trading, DCM and Sales teams in line with compliance and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong knowledge of global financial markets, particularly Australia, New Zealand, and US bond, option and interest rate markets and products.
  • Understanding of regulatory, fiscal and central bank policies and their implementation.
  • Analytical skills with problem solving, numerical and verbal reasoning abilities.
  • Ability to take responsibility for ongoing distribution of notes and views.
  • Influencing, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to comply with regulations, policies and processes.
