Our team collaborates with the Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multi-Cultural Affairs to deliver holistic, evidence-based interventions that promote safe and nurturing family environments.

Family Support Worker Role

This casual role requires flexibility and adaptability, working various shifts including weekends. As a Family Support Worker, you will play a critical role in providing front-line support services to children, young people and families. You will be guided by the Family Case Coordinator to develop targeted and purposeful goals that aim to stabilise family environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with children, young people and their families.
  • Assisting parents in implementing routines and boundaries that promote a sense of safety and security.
  • Supporting children and young people to reconnect with educational or training pathways.
  • Providing parenting strategies and therapeutic crisis intervention techniques as required.
  • Building parental capacity and understanding of attachment principles and safe nurturing practices.

Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention Services or relevant degree.
  • Ability to work autonomously in family homes.
  • National Criminal history check, Blue Card, Drivers Licence, First Aid, CPR, and comprehensive motor vehicle insurance.
  • Licenced Care Service Criminal History screening check.
