Job Summary:

A key role for a professional midwife to provide exceptional care and support to mothers and newborns. This position involves conducting routine assessments, implementing evidence-based practices, and collaborating with healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality prenatal, delivery, and postnatal care to patients, ensuring optimal health outcomes for both mother and baby.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and monitor the health status of expectant mothers and newborns, identifying potential risks and developing strategies for mitigation.
  • Educate patients on pregnancy, childbirth, and infant care, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
  • Develop and implement individualized birth plans and preferences, advocating for patients' wishes and needs during labor and delivery.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to promote maternal and infant health, addressing health disparities and improving access to care.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Midwifery or equivalent qualification recognized by relevant authorities.
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a midwife.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in midwifery practice, including hands-on experience in labor and delivery settings.
  • Experience in managing complex cases and emergencies during childbirth, demonstrating expertise and sound judgment.
  • Familiarity with the latest advancements in maternal and infant care practices, staying up-to-date with industry developments and research.
