Job Summary:
A key role for a professional midwife to provide exceptional care and support to mothers and newborns. This position involves conducting routine assessments, implementing evidence-based practices, and collaborating with healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality prenatal, delivery, and postnatal care to patients, ensuring optimal health outcomes for both mother and baby.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and monitor the health status of expectant mothers and newborns, identifying potential risks and developing strategies for mitigation.
- Educate patients on pregnancy, childbirth, and infant care, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
- Develop and implement individualized birth plans and preferences, advocating for patients' wishes and needs during labor and delivery.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and holistic care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Participate in community outreach programs to promote maternal and infant health, addressing health disparities and improving access to care.
- Bachelor's Degree in Midwifery or equivalent qualification recognized by relevant authorities.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a midwife.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in midwifery practice, including hands-on experience in labor and delivery settings.
- Experience in managing complex cases and emergencies during childbirth, demonstrating expertise and sound judgment.
