We are seeking a skilled Cook to fill a key position in our culinary team. As part of our Palms Aged Care Service, this role will involve preparing and cooking meals for residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision and creativity;
- Clean and maintain kitchen area, equipment, appliances, utensils and fixtures in accordance with standard cleaning and infection control processes;
- Undertake basic record keeping of key kitchen and stock data;
- Liaise with the supervisor and/or suppliers in relation to stock ordering and control;
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations;
- Contribute ideas for menu development and special events.
- Demonstrated knowledge of commercial food preparation, cooking processes, food hygiene control and cleaning chemicals used in a kitchen;
- Minimum one-year experience as a commercial cook, working in a hygiene-controlled environment;
- Experience working within the Aged Care industry will be highly regarded;
- Solid understanding of food safety legislation, texture modification and special needs diets.
As an ideal candidate, you will have excellent communication skills, be able to work well in a team environment and demonstrate adaptability and flexibility.
The successful applicant will also possess strong organisational and time management skills, ensuring timely meal preparation and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Additionally, they will have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, treating each resident with respect and dignity.
