Select Plant Hire provides a full service offering through its six major plant categories of Rail, Cranes, General Plant, Heavy/Civil Plant, Fleet and Site Solutions (Buildings and Accommodation).
About the Role
Select Plant Hire is currently recruiting for a skilled Mechanical Fitter who holds Rail industry qualifications. This role will be located at the Select Plant Australia – Laverton Depot on a full-time basis.
This position involves diagnosing, fault-finding, and repairing equipment in a timely manner, while also providing effective customer service on-site. As a member of a dynamic team, you will be responsible for applying technical skills, adhering to a safety culture, and contributing to the scheduling and maintenance of equipment.
Key Responsibilities
•Diagnose, fault-find, and repair equipment in a timely manner
•Apply technical skills as per trade in all areas of work
•Exhibit a safety culture by leading and contributing to Select Plant Australia's Zero Harm Philosophy
•Actively develop and review safe work practices, procedures, and work method statements
•Contribute to the scheduling and maintenance of equipment to be maintained within service interval schedules – as per internal processes
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter who can work effectively in a team environment, adapting to change and embracing new ideas. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical trade principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
