The role of a Child Protection Specialist is to work with families and communities to ensure the safety, well-being, and protection of children. This involves collaborating with various agencies and stakeholders to identify and address potential risks and threats to children.
As a Child Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Responding to reports of child safety concerns and conducting thorough assessments to determine the level of risk
- Developing and implementing safety plans to protect children from harm
- Providing support and guidance to families to help them address their needs and improve their ability to care for their children
- Working collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to child protection
- Managing cases and situations involving high-risk clients and families
Key qualifications for this role include:
- Completed or in the final semester of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science, or Welfare
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build positive working relationships
- A valid driver's license (P1 or above)
- A paid working with children clearance number
