About the Role:- Support Leadership: Assist the Executive Director Medical Services in ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of medical services across the EFNLHN.
- Enhance Clinical Services: Provide critical support to clinical services to maintain high standards of service provision across the network.
- Lead and Inspire: Offer leadership to medical staff at our hospitals, acting as a role model for professional standards and mitigating issues.
- Implement Innovations: Participate in and support the implementation of an electronic medical record system across the EFNLHN.
- Oversee Medical Services: Contribute to the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of medical services, including Clinical Governance, Clinical Risk Management, Morbidity & Mortality Reviews, and Clinical Incident Reviews.
- Promote Safety: Support the establishment and maintenance of a positive health and safety culture, consulting with workers on decisions impacting health, safety, and welfare.
- Manage Staff and Contracts: Oversee the management of medical staff and medical service contracts, including recruitment, orientation, and competency maintenance.
- Coordinate Services: Ensure effective communication and coordination between resident and visiting specialists, medical officers, and general practitioners.
- Build Networks: Develop and maintain clinical networks with relevant service providers and metropolitan health units.
- Strategic Input: Provide strategic and clinical input into clinical services and service delivery models across the LHN, adhering to the SA Health Clinical Services Capability Framework and best practice protocols.
- Qualifications: A Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) or equivalent, with Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registerable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award and the commitment to pursuing the qualification of Fellow of the Australasian College of Medical Administrators.
- Experience: A proven track record in innovative healthcare delivery and strong academic background.
- Leadership: Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire teams with a history of achieving objectives.
- Strategic Thinking: Capacity to think and act strategically at a system-wide level.
- Change Management: Experience in driving transformational change and continuous improvement.
- Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional verbal and written skills, with a respect for diverse teams and effective teamwork.
