About Our Organisation

We are seeking a skilled Counsellor to provide support and specialist group programs to men aiming to change abusive behaviours in our Men's Behaviour Change Program.

The purpose of this rewarding role is to deliver counselling, support and specialist group programmes through collaborative practices that are trauma informed, evidence based and psycho-educational.

Our team helps clients from all walks of life to overcome difficulties, build resilience and enhance their quality of life and relationships. We welcome individuals with a willingness to work with people who have experienced and those who use violence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide counselling, support and specialist group programmes to individuals and families through collaborative practices
  • Work with men and facilitate Men's Behaviour Change Programs
  • Deliver counselling in an agency setting and individual/group settings with people experiencing and/or using Domestic Family Violence
  • Engage in trauma informed practice and inclusive, respectful practice when working with diverse groups

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in human services (e.g. Psychology, Counselling) or equivalent experience
  • Clinical membership of relevant professional body (e.g. PACFA - Psychotherapy and Counsellors Association of Australia)
  • Experience working with men and facilitating Men's Behaviour Change Programs
  • Demonstrated skills in counselling and group work
