Exciting Opportunity: Deputy Country Director for Arnhem Land

We are seeking a dynamic and committed individual to join our Arnhem Land team as the Deputy Country Director. This role will play a crucial part in helping MAF Australia achieve its vision and mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Country Director in the development and implementation of MAF Australia's strategic plans and objectives.
  • Operational Management: Provide support to the Country Director in the management of human, material, and financial resources to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Leadership and Development: Oversee day-to-day operations and provide leadership to department heads, ensuring all activities are aligned with MAF Australia's mission and values.
  • Partnership Development: Identify and develop potential partnerships with other organisations and agencies in the country to expand MAF Australia's impact and reach.
  • Team Management: Foster a positive and productive work environment by providing mentorship, guidance, and support to team members.
  • Compliance and Representation: Ensure compliance with all local laws and regulations, as well as MAF Australia's policies and procedures. Represent MAF Australia at relevant meetings, conferences, and events.

Requirements:

  • Leadership and Management Experience: Team management experience and/or project management experience involving working with others.
  • Business Acumen: Aptitude in verbal, numerical, and abstract reasoning. Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Education and Qualifications: Graduate or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Skills: Strong interpersonal skills. Confident dealing with IT hardware/software. Excellent administrative skills. Thorough knowledge of MS office applications.
  • Cross-Cultural Experience: Cross-cultural management experience. Experience of working in an aviation or related field is preferred. Experience of living and working in a developing country and/or mission is preferred.
