The Role

As a Therapy Specialist, you will provide life-changing therapy to NDIS participants in Burwood East and surrounding areas. This full-time or part-time position (4 days per week) offers an opportunity to work in diverse settings, from homes and schools to playgrounds, workplaces, and community centres.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • You will utilize assessment and intervention skills to support participants in achieving their goals and maximizing NDIS funding.
  • You will build meaningful relationships with the participants and their supports (family, carers, friends).
  • You will develop and implement Behaviour Support Plans with function-based strategies, utilising positive behaviour support framework.
  • You will conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA).
  • You will collaborate within interdisciplinary teams to address complex behavioural challenges.
  • You will attend weekly team meetings in the Hub; sharing stories of impact, coffee and laughs.
  • You will tap into the knowledge and support of your Team Leader and dedicated Therapy Mentor.

Requirements

  • You must be deemed as a Behaviour Support Practitioner by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
  • You must have minimum 12 months experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
  • You must hold a relevant tertiary qualification (Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, Psychological/Social Science or related field).
  • You must have a positive and flexible approach to work.
  • You must possess strong communication skills and be a team player.
  • You must commit to personal and professional growth.
  • You must hold a valid Australian drivers license.
  • You must undergo an NDIS Workers Screening Check and Working with Children's Check.

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum
