Ophthalmology Internship Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate veterinarian to join our Ophthalmology team as an Intern. As an Intern, you will work closely with Dr Negar Hamzianpour and our Ophthalmology Specialist nurse, assisting with complex cases and gaining hands-on experience in consultations, theatre, wards, and diagnostic procedures. The position involves supporting one of our other departments for one day a week, offering a comprehensive learning opportunity in a supportive environment. A 12-month full-time commitment is required for this internship.
This structured learning program includes intern seminars and evening CPD events, enabling you to develop your skills and knowledge in ophthalmology. You will be exposed to a variety of interesting cases, expanding your expertise in this field. We encourage self-motivated individuals who wish to gain in-depth experience and pursue a further career in ophthalmology to apply for this role.
About You
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic vet with a passion for ophthalmology. To be considered for this position, you must demonstrate exceptional English communication skills, a solutions-focused mindset, and effective time management skills. You should also have a strong work ethic and commitment to our values and culture. Additionally, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years postgraduate experience in a full-time capacity or completion of a 1-year Rotating Internship program.
- A desire to achieve an ECVO Residency in Ophthalmology.
- A veterinary degree registerable with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW.
