About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Worker Programs and Development professional to join our team at Lane Cove Council.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering programs and projects to address the recreational, social, and psychological needs of young people at Synergy Youth Centre and in the Lane Cove Municipality.

This role works closely with the Youth Team and other stakeholders to deliver programs and activities that are relevant and responsive to the identified needs of young people.

The provision of professional supervision to young people attending the youth centre and participating in programs and services delivered by the Youth Team is a key aspect of this role.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in youth work, social sciences, or a relevant field, or equivalent qualifications combined with experience.
  • A current 'Paid Worker - Working with Children Check' clearance (NSW).
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering programs for, and supervision of, young people.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain professional relationships with young people in accordance with relevant Council policies and legislation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
