Job Overview

This is a pivotal operational and technical capability leadership role within the AFP.

The successful candidate will lead a multi-disciplinary team that develops and operates bespoke digital surveillance capabilities.

Digital Surveillance Collection provides AFP Investigators with covert technology-enabled surveillance and intelligence gathering capabilities.

  • The Team Lead will apply their skills and expertise, applying technology to provide innovative solutions to real-time operational problems.
  • They will be an excellent and empathetic communicator with a proven ability to function in high tempo operational environments.
  • Occasional shift work, domestic and international travel may be required.
  • The role involves working at the cutting edge of Law Enforcement technology to support the AFP's highest priority Investigations.

The Team Lead will play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents, and value of each individual.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply technical skills and expertise to provide innovative solutions to real-time operational problems

• Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders

• Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team

• Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Information Technology)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field
  • Proven track record of successfully leading teams and projects
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
