Job Opportunity: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our education staff, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs.

Job Description:

As a Learning Support Teacher, you will be responsible for assisting students with their academic and spiritual growth. This includes identifying students with special educational needs, consulting with parents and colleagues, and facilitating referral and assessment procedures. You will also deliver intervention, teach students, and assist teachers with curriculum differentiation.

Additionally, you will collaborate with class teachers and other relevant personnel to assist in the design, implementation, and monitoring of adjustments for students with disability. You will work collaboratively with other Learning Support personnel and contribute to the provision of staff professional development and parent education programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the identification of students with special educational needs
  • Consult and collaborate with parents, colleagues, and external providers
  • Deliver intervention and teach students
  • Assist teachers with curriculum differentiation
  • Collaborate with class teachers and other relevant personnel
  • Contribute to the provision of staff professional development and parent education programs

Requirements:

We are looking for an individual with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Qualifications as a four-year trained teacher or approved as Three-year trained due to significant prior experience as a Teacher within the system
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Special Education and/or special education experience
  • Active NESA Accreditation
  • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
  • Completion of anaphylaxis training and CPR training
