About the Role

Are you ready to lead high-impact ICT projects that shape the future of Main Roads? As our Senior ICT Project Manager, you'll take charge of planning, executing, and delivering complex technology initiatives that align with our strategic organisational goals.

You'll ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget; navigating risks, managing dependencies, and driving outcomes across multiple stakeholders. You'll be the key connector between technical and business teams, and external partners, ensuring clear communication, shared objectives, and transparent progress at every stage.

Working closely with our ICT Project Management Office (PMO), you'll champion adherence to our ICT governance frameworks, policies, and regulatory requirements while driving best practice project methodologies.

In this leadership role, you'll guide cross-functional teams, mentor junior staff, and create a collaborative, high-performance environment where people thrive and projects succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of complex ICT initiatives aligned with organisational goals
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications
  • Collaborate with the ICT PMO to ensure governance, policy adherence, and regulatory requirements
  • Mentor and develop junior staff; foster a collaborative, high-performance team
  • Build trusted relationships between technical and business teams and external partners

The ideal candidate will have experience leading ICT projects and managing multi-stakeholder environments, with strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

They will also be familiar with ICT governance frameworks and project methodologies, and have the ability to drive continuous improvement.

About You

You will possess excellent leadership skills, with a proven track record in project management. You will be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and have a deep understanding of ICT governance frameworks and project methodologies.
