Residential Property Management Professional

We are seeking an experienced Residential Property Management Professional to establish our internal leasing and property management function. This is an excellent opportunity to build capability from the ground up and take ownership of a growing portfolio of high-end apartments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing our internal Property Management function, including designing systems, tools, templates, and processes
  • Managing the leasing of premium residential apartments, including inspections, applications, tenant engagement, and lease preparation
  • Ensuring compliance with Victorian legislation, trust accounting, and holding of tenant funds
  • Implementing systems or software to support portfolio management, documentation, and reporting
  • Preparing high-quality reporting on leasing performance, income, and vacancy trends
  • Representing us in tenancy matters, including escalations, negotiations, and VCAT appearances
  • Monitoring market and regulatory trends and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

About You:

  • 10+ years' experience in residential property management, with at least 3 in a senior or autonomous capacity
  • Proven success in building or leading a high-performing property management function
  • Thorough knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act (Vic), VCAT processes, and leasing compliance
  • Sound understanding of trust accounting and the ability to manage tenant funds

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously. You should have a thorough understanding of property management principles, including trust accounting, Victorian legislation, and VCAT processes.
