Job Overview

The role of the Cafe Manager is to lead the DNA espresso bar and gourmet deli cafe operations. This involves ensuring every customer receives fast, consistent, and high-quality food and coffee service.

  • Manage the full cafe service journey: every customer greeted promptly, served quickly, and leaving satisfied.
  • Enforce coffee-making standards: correct grind, extraction, milk texture, and presentation every time.
  • Monitor speed of service during peak periods, ensuring customers are served efficiently without compromising quality.
  • Oversee upselling and suggestive selling by the cafe team to increase average spend.
Key Responsibilities

The Cafe Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading daily cafe huddles to set expectations, priorities, and standards.
  • Ensuring all new hires complete induction, barista training, and food safety requirements within two weeks.
  • Creating and publishing weekly cafe rosters that align to demand and budget.
  • Coaching and mentoring staff daily on coffee quality, deli service, upselling, and customer care.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in cafe, deli, or hospitality management.
  • Proven ability to deliver cafe-level profit, wage, and waste targets.
  • Strong barista skills and product knowledge.
  • Leadership experience managing teams of 10+.
