Job Title: Area Manager

As an Area Manager with The SWATCH Group, you will play a crucial role in supporting our National Retail Manager in overseeing the day-to-day retail operations of selected Swatch Stores across Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee retail operations of stores, ensuring consistent adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Support Store Managers in training, development, coaching, and supervision of employees
  • Ensure stores adhere to merchandising standards and uphold Swatch's brand image
  • Oversee rosters, timesheets, and payroll requirements in line with agreed budgets
  • Provide regular feedback to Store Managers on sales performance and work with them to continuously improve results
  • Monitor and review sales and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure targets are consistently achieved
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts for senior management
  • Assist in setting budgets and forecasting sales in conjunction with Retail Manager
  • Support recruitment processes and oversee the induction process of new employees
  • Ensure training is implemented and conducted throughout the year
  • Overall responsibility for stock replenishment and ordering of new product
  • When required, support the Customer Service Advisor to resolve escalated customer complaints
  • Develop strategies to maintain ongoing relationships with local customers to drive repeat business
  • When required, support Retail Manager and General Manager in new stores and store renovation projects, contributing to administrative requirements, installation, and setup
  • Provide ad hoc support to Marketing Manager as required for Visual Merchandising (VM) and event coordination
  • Ensure employees are working as a team, superior customer service is being given, and Swatch's unique position and image in the marketplace is being enhanced
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline or a related field (preferred)
  • Extensive multi-site retail experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Excellent organisational skills and business acumen
  • Proven experience achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Ability to generate new ideas, solutions, prioritise, and work well under pressure
  • Excellent computer literacy, oral, and written communication skills
  • Passion for superior customer service
  • Highly developed relationship-building skills
  • Capable of identifying and overcoming issues
  • Ability to train, develop, coach, and motivate others
  • Must be based in Melbourne with flexibility to travel interstate on a monthly basis
