About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our ICU team on a full-time basis. As a valued member of our inter-disciplinary team, you will play a key role in ensuring high levels of patient care are provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the nursing team with planning, assessment, implementation, and evaluation of excellent standard of evidence-based, person-centered patient care.
  • Demonstrate professional practice by adhering to AHPRA professional standards, code of ethics, and conduct, legislative requirements, and Healthscope's policies and processes.
  • Foster a learning environment through clinical presentations to support the nursing team with their professional development and maintaining own professional learning and continuous professional development.
  • Act as a valued member of the inter-disciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care by actively contributing to team processes and practices.
  • Collaborate with external partners to ensure patients receive a high quality of care across the healthcare continuum.
  • Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high quality patient outcomes.
About the Company

Our hospital has a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility located at Rankin Park. We have 11 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit. We also have a cardiac suite, including a cardiac catheter laboratory, and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite, including 6 birthing suites, and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Our Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.

About You
  • Current Registration with AHPRA & Working rights in Australia.
  • 3+ years' experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute ICU, or HDU setting.
  • Commitment to Quality Patient Care.
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Works well independently and within a team.
  • Post Graduate Certificate in ICU, HDU, or CCU (or working towards) is desirable.
