Job Overview:

Clinical Nurse Specialists play a vital role in delivering specialist nursing care to individuals living with neurodegenerative conditions, including dementia, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, motor neurone disease, and Huntington's disease.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver complex specialist nursing care to individuals and their families affected by neurodegenerative conditions
  2. Lead the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery to ensure person-centred, specialised, multidisciplinary care
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care
  4. Develop and implement education programs for staff and consumers on neurodegenerative conditions
  5. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to neurodegenerative care

Requirements:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the relevant health authority
  • Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Nursing or a related field
  • Experience in providing specialist nursing care to people with complex health needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
