About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Bakery Assistant Manager to join our team at Drakes Supermarkets. As a key member of our bakery department, you will be responsible for assisting the Bakery Manager in the day-to-day operation of the store's bakery.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the management and coaching of the bakery team
  • Completing production and actioning orders in a timely and efficient manner
  • Generating rosters and ensuring accurate team member scheduling
  • Liaising with both team members and management to ensure seamless communication
  • Maintaining a high level of customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers
  • Assisting with merchandising and visual displays to drive sales and promote our products
  • Ensuring compliance with work health and safety standards and maintaining a clean and safe working environment

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a retail or bakery environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of ordering, cost control, and gross profit management
  • Ability to supervise a team and provide coaching and guidance
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and a commitment to excellence
