The Senior Principal Project Engineer plays a crucial role in driving successful project delivery through the application of high-level engineering and problem-solving skills.
This individual leverages broad industry experience and deep subject matter expertise in key SCADA applications to drive effective delivery of major applications and components.
They impact the achievement of project objectives by setting the direction for effective delivery of projects, collaborating with Project Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, and Project Management teams to identify and resolve complex project challenges.
This expert provides subject matter expertise, works with other subject matter experts globally to ensure deep product knowledge is available to, and applied effectively, in regional project planning and execution.
Your Impact- Lead collaboration across Project Engineering, Power Systems Engineering and Project Management to diagnose and solve complex project and product issues.
- Maintain effective global relationships amongst SMEs responsible for key products and disciplines.
- Provide local subject matter expertise, and/or facilitate the provision of such expertise from global experts as needed.
- Contribute to the coaching and development of junior engineers across the department.
- Provide detailed analysis if project and product issues.
- Devise elegant and efficient solutions to complex problems impacting project success.
- Contribute to work estimates through the application of specialised knowledge and experience.
- Develop and maintain broad knowledge of energy markets and customer drivers.
- Stay up to date with industry standards and trends.
- Masters level qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
- Specialised applied knowledge of one or more SCADA applications, including EMS, ADMS and/or GMS.
- Broad knowledge of Project Engineering and Power Systems Engineering disciplines.
- In depth knowledge of practical application of SCADA and associated applications.
- Experience operating, maintaining, delivering and/or supporting complex SCADA installations.
- Familiarity with energy markets and corresponding customer regulatory and technical drivers.
- Demonstrated experience identifying and resolving complex issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effectively manage time, and context switch between multiple competing tasks effectively.
