The Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Officer / Handyperson to join our team at our Laverton North site. This is a full-time permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 7 AM – 3:06 PM.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining site grounds, equipment, and office buildings, both internally and externally. This will include:

  • Oxy and Arc Welding
  • Pump and hose repairs
  • Effluent treatment and discharge. Cleaning and draining of pits.
  • Gardening/landscaping and lawn maintenance, including weed control
  • Painting, internally and externally
  • Changing lights, moving and mending furniture
  • Keeping the site clean and clear of debris and using a ride on sweeper
  • Rack repairs
  • Plumbing repairs and maintenance
  • Concrete repairs
  • Minor electrical repairs
  • Preventive maintenance
  • Cleaning and replacing of filters
  • Other maintenance tasks as required
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Previous hands-on experience in a maintenance or renovations role for a large site
  • Oxy and arc welding experience
  • A current Australian forklift licence – minimum LF (EWP desirable)
  • Physical fitness and comfort with heavy lifting
  • Basic computer skills
  • Exceptional time and self-management ability and great verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Flexibility and the ability to think on your feet
  • Trade or certificate qualifications (advantageous)
