Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Plant Operator to join our team at Council's Gregadoo Waste Management Centre (GWMC). This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires the operation and maintenance of heavy plant and equipment, including loaders, water trucks, hooklift trucks, and landfill compactors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain heavy plant and equipment with emphasis on loader, water truck, hooklift truck, and landfill compactor operation.
  • Undertake waste management duties including disposal of municipal, construction and demolition, commercial and industrial waste, and contaminated waste.
  • Utilise and maintain small items of plant, equipment, tools, and PPE/C in accordance with Council standards.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to site safety.
  • Complete documentation relevant to the role, including incident reports.
  • Perform other duties in support of the GWMC team as directed.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current Class HR Driver's Licence.
  • General Construction Induction Training Card.
  • National Certificate of Competency - Forklift (LF) (Desirable).
  • Substantial experience relevant to the role.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

Work Health and Safety: The successful applicant will be required to be vaccinated for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Tetanus.
