Position Overview - Graduate Admissions Support Specialist

Department: Graduate & International Admissions

Compensation: Hourly Rate: $16/hr

Role Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates daily operations within the Graduate Admissions department, providing essential support to the Admissions team.
  • Engages with prospective and current students, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders.
  • Contributes to communication strategies, event organization, and outreach initiatives aimed at attracting prospective graduate students, utilizing the university's CRM system.
  • Ensures confidentiality regarding student interactions, documentation, and sensitive information.
  • Delivers administrative assistance to the Graduate Admissions team, encompassing tasks such as answering inquiries, data management, reviewing applicant materials, and preparing reports and presentations.
  • Assists in the planning and execution of Graduate Admissions events, both on and off campus, and participates in these events as required.
  • Maintains a professional appearance by adhering to business casual attire guidelines.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exhibits a positive attitude and a collaborative spirit; must be a dependable team member.
  • Possesses fundamental computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication abilities, alongside excellent customer service skills.
  • Displays meticulous attention to detail.
  • Must be dependable and available to work flexible hours, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student at UHD, maintaining good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.00.
  • Availability to work up to 20 hours per week is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • Experience in connecting students with campus resources.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft software.
  • Fluency in Spanish is advantageous.
