Family Support Specialist

We are seeking a Family Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will work with young children and their families, providing support and guidance to empower them to reach their full potential.

This role is focused on providing high-quality practical intervention and casework services to families with young children aged 0-8 years. You will work in partnership with families to assess strengths, needs and risks, develop and implement case plans, and review progress periodically.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or a related discipline, and demonstrated experience in working with young children and families. They will be able to communicate effectively with families from diverse backgrounds and possess a high level understanding of preventative and early intervention approaches in child and family support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a client caseload of families with young children aged 0-8 years.
  • Work in partnership with families to assess strengths, needs and risks, develop, implement and periodically review case plans.
  • Support the delivery of other programs such as playgroups and parenting programs.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with young children and families, including high-quality practical intervention and casework skills.
  • High level understanding of preventative and early intervention approaches in child and family support.
  • Ability to communicate with families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficient in working with First Nations and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse families.
  • Current driver's licence and valid Blue Card.
