About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Commercial Division as an EL 1. The successful candidate will have a strong background in procurement and contracting, with a focus on commercial policy and framework management.

The role will involve developing and implementing policy that is consistent with legislation and Commonwealth policies, guidance, and processes. You will also be responsible for developing and managing training packages to enhance procurement and contracting acumen across Defence.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to lead bodies of work and provide mentoring and support to personnel new to Defence and Commercial Division. You will also be responsible for building and sustaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and actively participating in team and group activities to deliver agreed outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be flexible and adaptable to change. You will also have the ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and be confident and professional when engaging with stakeholders from the public and private sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement policy that is consistent with legislation and Commonwealth policies, guidance, and processes.
  • Develop and manage training packages to enhance procurement and contracting acumen across Defence.
  • Provide mentoring and support to personnel new to Defence and Commercial Division.
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in team and group activities to deliver agreed outcomes.
