Research Lead

About the Role:

  • We are seeking an experienced Research Lead to coach a team of world-class scientists, build on our foundational model roadmap, and turn academic breakthroughs into practical product experiences.
  • The successful candidate will lead and grow a high-performing research team who are pushing the boundaries of what is possible with AI at scale.
  • You will be responsible for setting strategic research direction, coaching others to deliver impactful scientific contributions, and ensuring the translation of research into meaningful product capabilities.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Coaching and mentoring a team of research scientists to achieve their full potential.
  • Setting research strategy in alignment with our AI and product goals.
  • Guiding technical direction across foundational model development, experimentation, and evaluation.
  • Partnering cross-functionally to ensure research translates into product impact.

Requirements:

  • A proven track record of leading research or applied science teams and coaching team members to achieve significant impact.
  • Expert knowledge and experience with GANs, Diffusion Models, VAEs, and Autoregressive Models.
  • Deep skills in ML, AI, or foundational model development and training - with a passion for staying hands-on.
  • Able to translate cutting-edge research into practical, scalable solutions that drive business results.
