Job Description

The Procurement Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's procurement activities are executed efficiently and effectively. This position collaborates closely with key stakeholders to develop, manage, and monitor contracts and supplier panels from inception to completion.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities, ensuring risk, probity, and transparency requirements are addressed. This includes coordinating tender administration services, publishing tenders, and maintaining professional relationships with internal clients, vendors, and staff.

A high level of numeracy and accuracy is essential for this role, as well as sound knowledge of probity, risk management, and relevant legislation relating to contract conditions.

The Procurement Specialist will also oversee the Panel Management System, administer quotation processes, and establish new panel arrangements. Additionally, they will contribute towards the continual improvement of processes and procedures in the Procurement area.

This role requires strong negotiation skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and high-level time management skills to prioritize competing deadlines.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a procurement role.
  • Advanced knowledge of strategic sourcing processes, including market analysis, tendering, and evaluation.
  • High-level understanding of contract and commercial law, and general conditions of contract.
  • Ability to undertake the Procurement process and provide guidance to internal stakeholders for medium/high-risk sourcing.
  • Demonstrated experience in achieving value for money outcomes.
  • Possession of a high level of personal integrity, a positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
