Job Description
This permanent full-time position is based at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility and forms part of our Painting and Finishing Department (PFD) within Springhill Works. As a key member of the department, you will be responsible for ensuring paint and chemical stock is readily available in the right quantity at the right time to facilitate seamless and uninterrupted production.
The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to build constructive relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. Your ability to proactively address issues and recommend process improvements will be essential in driving business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish effective links between Operations and Production Planning and Scheduling Teams to maintain continued supply.
- BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH INTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS AND EXTERNAL PARTNERS TO ENSURE COLLABORATIVE WORKING PRACTICES.
- IDENTIFY AND RECOMMEND SOLUTIONS WHEN ISSUES AND NEW CHALLENGES ARISE.
- EXPLORER PROCESS IMPROVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES ACROSS THE DEPARTMENT AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in materials science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent TAFE qualification, along with relevant experience in inventory management, planning, and supply chains.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to manipulate data to derive insights.
- Developed communication and influencing skills to build constructive and effective relationships.
- A commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others.
