Role Overview

Join a team of innovators to design, develop and maintain internal developer portals using Backstage.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate on the full lifecycle of Database Services cloud solutions.
  • Design, develop and maintain internal developer portals using Backstage, including custom plugin development, catalog configuration, and integrations with cloud-native tools and services.

  • Write clean, well-commented, and maintainable code, along with comprehensive systems documentation.
  • Emphasize automated testing—unit, integration, and end-to-end functional tests—with encouragement to leverage AI tools for efficiency.
  • Ensure consistency and global parity across processes, systems, and products within the Database Engineering scope.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience developing with IaC tools, preferably Terraform.
  • Experience using AWS Cloud and AWS Services like EKS, Lambda, S3, EC2.
  • Experience using Git, Confluence, and JIRA and adherence to SCRUM.
  • Experience developing in Backstage, Python, FastAPI, React, Typescript.
  • Experience with NoSql databases preferably MongoDB.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree.
  • Strong understanding of using AI in software engineering and testing.
  • Practical experience using or developing for MongoDB databases.
  • Experience with ITSM practices.
  • Experience with test-driven development (TDD).
