About this Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced mechanical specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, fitting, and servicing of mechanical components with a specialisation in conveyor systems and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, install, maintain, and repair conveyor and scraper systems.
  • Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical faults.
  • Perform workshop fabrication, machining, and welding as required.
  • Use hand and power tools, workshop machines, and interpret technical drawings.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.

Client Site Support

  • Travel to client sites to assist with installations, repairs, or audits.
  • Perform mechanical servicing and on-site diagnostics.
  • Liaise with clients professionally to ensure service satisfaction and system efficiency.

Design & Technical Support

  • Assist in the design and development of new or modified scraper components.
  • Provide input into the layout, fitment, and engineering function of new products.
  • Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams on prototyping and testing.

Sales & Customer Support

  • Provide technical guidance to the sales team during quoting or solution development.
  • Join customer meetings to help scope projects and recommend system improvements.
  • Support internal sales documentation by reviewing specifications and drawings.

Requirements

  • Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (or equivalent).
  • Strong experience with mechanical assembly, maintenance, and fault finding.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Competency in workshop tools, machines, and fabrication processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team across workshop and field environments.

Work Environment & Conditions

  • Based at the workshop with regular fieldwork at customer locations.
  • Exposure to industrial environments.
  • Required to wear appropriate PPE and adhere to workplace safety protocols.
  • Occasional after-hours or weekend work depending on customer needs.
