Operational Capability team seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Capability Analyst.
The successful candidate will utilise data analysis and stakeholder engagement for evidence-based planning, focusing on operational risk and capability effectiveness.
The analyst specialises in data consolidation and analysis to enhance capability effectiveness, while also fostering strong relationships among brigades, Service Delivery and Headquarters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain and improve analytical tools, processes, and workflows for capability management planning.
- Utilise Microsoft Power BI for data analysis, report generation and dashboard creation to support planning activities.
- Collect, analyse and validate data for project implementation, ensuring outcomes through control mechanisms.
- Provide expertise in emergency services-related technical areas and create processes/materials for data analysis.
- Customise reports and dashboards to identify improvement opportunities, ensuring data integrity.
- Review reporting tools for accuracy, coordinate project activities and establish document control procedures.
- Participate in workshops for data collection relating to capability planning and communicate findings effectively.
- Implement and maintain procedures to meet compliance, governance and security standards.
- Collaborate across the organisation to align with key projects and stakeholders.
- Any other support activities required to assist the Capability Team.
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or proven experience in a similar role using Power BI.
- Excellent written and verbal briefing skills for the presentation of complex data, development of policy and process, document writing, and reporting to senior management.
- A strong background in data analysis demonstrating creative, analytical, conceptual problem solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to extract, interpret and present information in a meaningful way.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver successful outcomes in a high pressure environment, whilst supporting multiple projects simultaneously to coordinate and prioritise tasks to meet objectives and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
- Ability to work autonomously using a flexible, proactive approach with minimal supervision, whilst also being an adaptable and supportive team member.
