Audio Description Coordinator

This is a dynamic and inclusive role within our Access Services team, where you will play a key part in delivering closed captioning, audio description, and subtitling services.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess a high level of accuracy. They should also be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

About the Role:

As an Audio Description Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be to assist the Access Services Lead in managing live and file captioning workflows with third-party providers. You will also be responsible for coordinating audio description schedules and disseminating information via our website.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage live and file captioning workflows with third-party providers
  • Coordinate audio description schedules and disseminate information via our website
  • Collaborate with Subtitle Editors and language contractors to deliver high-quality subtitling for our programming
  • Log on-air discrepancies and manage viewer complaints and audience feedback regarding access services provided by us

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills when liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy, with the ability to work independently
  • Desire and ability to acquire new skills, particularly in resource management and coordination
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including good working knowledge of Excel
