Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underground Mining Assistant to join our team at Gold Fields. As a key member of our underground mining team, you will be responsible for assisting the mining team to achieve daily targets while working closely with underground operators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the mining team in achieving daily targets by performing various tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and ensure a safe working environment.
- Deliver and pick up equipment, tools, and services as required for the smooth operation of the underground mine.
- Remove waste items from underground workings to waste dumps.
- Assist Jumbo Operators with bolting and meshing as required.
- Set up headings with bolts and mesh, and assist the service crew when possible.
- Ensure all pre-starts are completed and arrive fit for work for all rostered days.
Requirements:
- Previous underground mining experience is highly regarded.
- A current Manual Driver's License is essential.
- A Dangerous Goods Card, Working at Heights, and Confined Space certifications are desirable.
- Apply First Aid is an asset.
