About the Role:
Gold Fields Australia is seeking a Senior Engineer: Projects to join their Mining Department at Granny Smith Gold Mine. Reporting to the Unit Manager: Underground mining, you will be responsible for the effective management and supervision of business partners (contractors) and projects-related activities on site to enable achievement of the budgeted capital projects portfolio, meeting all quality standards including cost, safety, and environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Projects functions are adequately supported by coordinating all facets of projects, including developing and utilising appropriate processes and guidelines to assist in the achievement of this objective.
- Managing the business partners (contractors) at the Wallaby underground.
- Critically analyse all aspects of the business partners' work to ensure that emerging issues are mitigated.
- Develop, implement, and monitor adherence to appropriate new procedures, processes, and technology to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of projects.
- Providing routine updates and ensuring appropriate levels of communication are maintained between the GSM, business partners, and management/stakeholders.
- Assist in the achievement of successful mining capital projects by providing expert guidance and technical input into all project scopes.
- Manage the safety and financial position of all contract work, including accruals, receipting, cost reporting, forecasting, and variation management as well as monthly accruals.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in mining or equivalent.
- Postgraduate qualification in business or project management would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in contractor management.
- Demonstrated level of competency in relevant software applications, including MS Office, Ventsim, Deswik, and SAP.
- Leadership experience, including performance development and change management.
- Desirable to possess a FCMM statutory certificate.
