Heavy Diesel Mechanic Lead

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to lead our workshop crew in performing assembly, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of construction equipment.

This role will provide opportunities for professional growth and development through Hitachi's industry-recognized training programs and leadership courses.

Responsibilities:
  • Leading a team of skilled workshop technicians to meet service expectations
  • Driving a safety-first culture within the department
  • Liaising with technical support staff and coordinating diagnostics, maintenance, and repair work
  • Managing work schedules and daily workshop activities to ensure efficient utilization of equipment and resources
  • Liaising with stakeholders pertaining to machine performance, product, workmanship, and warranty
Requirements:
  • Australian (or Australian recognized) heavy diesel or mobile plant trade qualifications
  • Earthmoving equipment experience required
  • Leadership experience in a comparable industry is desirable
  • Safety first mindset - embracing, displaying, and driving the HCA Safety Culture from within
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to build long term relationships
  • The ability to navigate complex technical issues to deliver high quality outcomes in repair and maintenance services
