Job Title: Payroll Administrator
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing:
- Process payroll for all employees, including new hires, terminations, and pay adjustments.
- Manage employee leave entitlements (annual, personal, and long service leave).
- Payroll Inquiries:
- Respond to payroll inquiries and provide guidance to employees and management.
- Payroll Reporting:
- Assist with payroll reporting, including monthly and annual reports.
- Tax Compliance:
- Ensure accurate and timely payment of payroll taxes, superannuation, and other obligations.
- Employee Records:
- Work closely with the People & Culture team to maintain accurate employee records.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously monitor payroll processes and implement improvements for efficiency.
- Compliance:
- Maintain compliance with taxation, superannuation, and Fair Work regulations.
- Complex Calculations:
- Process payroll calculations such as back-pay and terminations.
- Fringe Benefits:
- Manage internal Fringe Benefits processes.
Requirements:
We are looking for a Payroll Administrator with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on payroll experience in a fast-paced environment, who brings strong analytical and problem-solving skills to the table. You'll need to be comfortable working in a complex payroll environment, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
A friendly demeanor, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
Experience with Enterprise Agreements and Awards, a high level of proficiency in payroll software, Excel, and a solid understanding of Fair Work, Payroll, Tax, and Superannuation legislation in Australia are must-haves.
Beyond the technical skills, you're friendly, approachable, and customer-focused. You enjoy working with people, can communicate clearly and empathetically, and keep your cool under pressure. You're the kind of person who thrives in a team environment but can also take initiative and work independently when needed.
