Leading Mental Health Professional

Job Title: Mental Health Professional
As a dedicated and compassionate mental health professional, you will play a pivotal role in empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds to overcome health challenges. You will receive comprehensive support, including regular supervision and collaboration with experienced therapists, propelling your skills, and guiding you through varied working environments.
You will work within a multidisciplinary team across programs providing both clinical care and health promotion activities. All clinical care will be provided within primary health care clinics, Headspace, Recovery centre, Family Wellbeing centre, and other community areas.
Functional Accountabilities:
- Clinical Service Provision:
- Clinic based and home visits
- Perform health assessments
- Deliver prevention and education programs
- Data Administration
Selection Criteria:
- At least a tertiary degree (or equivalent qualification) in Psychology is required.
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHRPA)
- Experience in providing assessment, intervention, and case management in various settings
- Understanding of health issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and a strong commitment to improving outcomes
- Commitment to the philosophy and practice of an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service and ability to work sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Able to work independently and/or as a sole professional
- Current C Class Driver's License (QLD)
- Satisfactory police check
- Blue Card or willingness to apply
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical services including assessment, intervention, and case management
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive care and support
- Develop and implement prevention and education programs
- Conduct data administration and reporting
- Collaborate with local First Nations Social and Emotional Health Workers
