The Role

Downer, a leading infrastructure group, is seeking a highly motivated and capable Gas Team Leader to join our elite Gas Networks & Services Team at our depot. In this role, you will report to the Supervisor and lead a frontline gas maintenance crew responsible for delivering high-quality construction, fault response, and maintenance activities on gas mains and services throughout the gas distribution networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute work orders to ensure efficient and effective delivery of projects.
  • Provide emergency response services during and after regular hours to ensure the safety of employees and the public.
  • Oversee the performance of employees and contractors to ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies.
  • Proactively promote and drive a Zero Harm culture, guiding and coaching others to achieve a safe working environment.
  • Deliver planned and unplanned work, order materials and products required to complete allocated fieldwork, and control resources while on site.

About You

  • A proven track record of hands-on experience with gas utility assets in the field, either as part of a crew or in a team leader role.
  • MR/HR licence and possessing an excavator licence is an advantage.
