Senior Legal Counsel - Energy Solutions Job

This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced legal professional to join our team as a Senior Legal Counsel - Energy Solutions.

About the Role

As a key member of our Legal, Governance & Regulatory function, you will provide independent and commercially orientated legal advice and services to support the delivery of major projects across our business.

Reporting to the Group Counsel - Energy Solutions & Delivery, you will partner closely with our business units to provide strategic legal guidance and support, ensuring that we effectively manage legal risk and drive business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver effective, timely, commercial and pragmatic legal advice on energy project documentation, joint venture agreements, and other commercial contracts.
  • Manage legal risk in relation to major projects and commercial areas across the business.
  • Assist the Group Counsel in the design, implementation and governance of standards and processes to drive efficiency in the use of legal services.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Admission to practice as a Legal Practitioner in Australia with a current practising certificate.
  • Strong and extensive hands-on experience advising on major projects, including regulatory experience and construction law.
  • Excellent contract interpretation, drafting and dispute resolution skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of major projects gained from law firm training or in-house experience.
  • Technical skills to drive strategy and work as a trusted advisor to the business.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, collaborative and able to work with a broad range of stakeholders.
