About the Role
  • Supervise daily team activities ensuring efficient maintenance and repairs delivery.
  • Conduct site audits on worksites, plant, and stormwater management systems to guarantee adherence to WHS, environmental legislation, and safety protocols.
  • Provide consistent leadership to the team through decisive decision-making.
  • Mentor and support team development through training and performance feedback.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining stormwater and concrete structures across the Council's road network. They will scope and coordinate work with contractors, ensuring all work meets construction standards and environmental policies with quality verification upon completion. Additionally, they will plan resource allocation for projects; participate in after-hours on-call rosters; and monitor, report, and manage incidents, hazards, and injuries according to Council procedures.

To excel in this role, you will require:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment and supervise staff.
  • Familiarity with equipment used in formwork, concreting, road construction, and pipe laying, including hand and power tools operation.
  • A working knowledge of employee obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act.
  • Developed written and oral communication skills, along with computer, literacy, and numeracy skills;
  • Construction Industry Training (White Card), current MR driver's licence, and ability to work out of hours within an on-call roster for emergencies or programmed works as necessary.
