Job Opportunity: Trainee Bookkeeper

We are seeking a highly skilled Trainee Bookkeeper to fill a key role within our organization.

This is a full-time position that suits someone with basic accounts experience who wants to develop a career in finance.

The successful candidate will have exceptional communication and organizational skills, be able to meet deadlines without compromising quality and accuracy of work produced.

You will be responsible for:

  • Reconciliations of bank and credit card statements
  • General ledger, sales and wages reconciliations
  • Processing and reconciling intercompany transactions
  • Preparing general journal entries
  • Assisting with BAS, FBT and payroll tax preparation
  • Providing support with expense analysis and budgeting
  • Meeting end-of-month deadlines
  • Managing debt collection and creditors/debtors reconciliations
  • Collaborating with the Finance Manager to complete end-of-month and end-of-year financial reporting
  • Servicing suppliers and managing 80-100 staff payroll
  • Invoicing supplier rebates
  • Ensuring prompt resolution of any credit-based enquiries

The ideal candidate will possess strong customer and supplier relationship focus, mathematical skills, spreadsheet and data analysis skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A 12-month traineeship (Cert IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping) is offered, including relevant course work as required.
