Job Overview

The Ministry of Justice is seeking an experienced Senior Property Portfolio Manager to join their team. This 12-month fixed-term role will involve managing leased properties, negotiating lease terms, reviewing and renewing leases, maintaining accurate records, and developing strong relationships with landlords, tenants, and internal stakeholders.

About the Role

This position sits within the Property Strategy & Planning team, responsible for implementing property strategies aligned with the Ministry's strategic direction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of leased properties, ensuring optimal use and minimizing risks
  • Negotiate lease terms, including rent reviews and renewals, to meet business needs
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of lease data, including financial information
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with landlords, tenants, and internal stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with the Property Strategy & Planning team to achieve business objectives

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in property management or a related field, with at least 2 years' experience in commercial property leasing
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex financial information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word
  • Experience with Financial Management Information Systems (FMIS) and SharePoint would be highly desirable
