Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our Perth team. As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for completing structural design of foundation and steelwork support processing equipment, vessels, pipe supports as well as underground concrete works, culverts, and general non-processing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the lead structural engineer, you will be completing structural design and ensuring compliance with project scope and requirements.
  • Preparing calculation packages in support of the design and ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Advising the lead engineer on project scope and assisting with changes to comply with project change management processes.
  • Supporting the lead structural engineer on scope management, cross-disciplinary coordination, and resolving discrepancies between company and client project requirements.
  • Communicating effectively with the structural engineering team and project stakeholders, including the client.
  • Identifying issues and problems, developing appropriate solutions, and seeking assistance when required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering or relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Relevant years of experience in structural engineering design in the mining, energy, and/or infrastructure sector.
  • Previous experience in heavy industrial or petrochemical plant projects is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with finite element programs, software such as Micro Station and Auto CAD, and a keen attitude to learn new design tools and modes of project delivery.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team, with a focus on delivery and service.
  • Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills, with a sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in using structural engineering specific software such as Staad Pro or Spacegass.
