We are seeking an experienced and innovative leader to drive educational excellence at our high-performing school.
Auburn Girls High School is a partially academically selective and comprehensive institution with a diverse student population. Our school has achieved outstanding HSC and NAPLAN results through evidence-based practices targeting literacy, numeracy, and HPGE. We have a strengths-based Positive Education wellbeing platform where every student is known, valued, and cared for within a culture of high expectations and academic rigour.
The successful candidate will possess successful teaching experience with the capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning, and classroom practice. They will have knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs. Additionally, they will demonstrate educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams. A well-developed communication and interpersonal skillset, coupled with the ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning, is essential. Furthermore, the successful candidate will have knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity at our school. An unconditional full approval to teach is required. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you must commence the application process when applying for this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop high-quality teaching and learning programs that cater to diverse student needs.
- Mentor and coach staff to enhance their teaching practices and contribute to a positive school culture.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes, particularly in literacy and numeracy.
- Cultivate strong relationships with students, staff, and parents to foster a sense of community and belonging.
- Manage resources effectively to support teaching and learning, ensuring equity and accessibility for all students.
